Location of Crystal Castle in Rinto.
Crystal Castle (Japanese: クリスタルの城 Crystal Castle) is the location of Rinto's Elite Council, who normally may only be challenged after defeating all eight Rinto Gym Leaders. It is located in the northern area of Siria City.
Entering Crystal Castle requires a Castle Key, which are held by high ranking members of the Elite Council, and are given out to Elite Trainers who manage to win tournaments in the Crystal Colosseum. However, due to the residents of Siria City being evicted by the new Elite Council, these tournaments no longer take place, and the key can simply be found in the Colosseum.
On the initial visit to the castle, while the new Elite Council is still in power, the player is greeted by AnneSr/PrimaSs, who congratulates them on making it so far, before revealing that she was originally the Champion of Rinto before the new Elite Council took over. She then asks them to take care of the individual members of the Elite Four, so the two of them can team up and take care of the new Champion unhindered. She waits in the main hall in front of the entrance to the Champion's room. From the main hall, four archways lead to four different towers: the southwest arch leads to the Illusion Tower, hosted by the Psychic type expert Payne; the northwest arch leads to the Power Tower, hosted by the Fighting type expert Isabelle; the northeast arch leads to the Toxic Tower, hosted by the Poison type expert Amethyst; and the southwest arch leads to the Cyclone Tower, hosted by the Wind type expert Skye. After defeating all four members, as well as getting the old Elite Four members to restrain them, Skye manages to escape and knock down AnneSr/PrimaSs, proceeding to the Starlit Tower, where the Champion resides.
On subsequent visits, all four archways are open from the start, meaning the Elite Four can be challenged in any order. The southwest arch leads to the Tempest Tower, hosted by the Electric type expert Leona; the northwest arch leads to the Flower Tower, hosted by the Grass type expert Ivy; the northeast arch leads to the Basic Tower, hosted by the Normal type expert Regan; and the southwest arch leads to the Gemstone Tower, hosted by the Rock type expert Aurelia. After defeating all four members, the elevator in the center will activate, allowing the player to access the Sky Tower to face the Pokémon League Champion, Alex.
All the Towers at Crystal Castle, which the exception of the Champion's Tower, are preceded by short bridges leading up to them, which can still be exited once entered. At the end of each bridge is another archway leading into the tower, which can also be exited once entered, and contains a few puzzles that the player must solve as they make their way up to the roof. As soon as they reach the roof, the way back closes behind them. Once the battle is over, a warp tile behind the Elite Four member activates, allowing the player to warp back to the main hall.
The entrance hall is a long, scenic corridor that is decorated with stained glass windows and plants. On the initial visit, the player can find some Councilmembers here who express their desires to leave the Elite Council, now that it's being threatened. On subsequent visits, the player can find some Veterans, who inform them about the new Elite Four types. A pair of large doors at the end lead to the main hall.
The main hall is a large, bright room, lighted by several large windows. There are five archways, four of them leading to an Elite Four member's Tower, and the last leading to the Hall of Fame. After defeating an Elite Four member, the player will be transported back to the main hall, where the emblem above the defeated member's door will glow. Once all the Elite Four members have been defeated, the elevator in the center of the main hall will activate, allowing the player to enter the Sky Tower to face the Champion.
