Rebecca (Japanese: 愛菜 Aina) is a character in Pokémon Sunrise and Sunset and s. She, alongside her husband, Mike, owns the Pokémon Day Care in Capeta City. She is also the official referee of the Capeta Gym.

In the gamesEdit

Rebecca is the older cousin of the Capeta City Gym Leader, Beatrice.[1] The player first meets her when they enter Capeta City. She greets them, explaining who she is, before telling them where the Gym is and that she will be waiting for them in there.[2] She also suggests that they visit the Pokémon Day Care, where she works, after they battle Beatrice.[3]

True to her word, she appears in the Gym and watches the battle between the player and Beatrice. However, after the battle, she leaves before the player has a chance to speak to her. During the CrysalitSr/PupazeSs swarm she remains inside the Pokémon Day Care, afraid of putting the young Pokémon in danger.[4] After the player and Beatrice defeat Brunswick, she will let the player use the Day Care, but only if they can defeat her and her husband Mike in a double battle.[5] Afterwards, she stays behind the counter inside the Day Care, and is in charge of taking the player's Pokémon.

QuotesEdit

Pokémon Sunrise and Sunset and sEdit

Capeta CityEdit
"Hey, wait up! Hi! My name's Rebecca. You must be <Player>, right? Beatrice, the Gym Leader of this city, is my little cousin. She's told me all about you! I work as the referee in the Gym, which is in the northwest of the city. I guess I'll see you there! I'm really looking forward to watching your battle! Oh yes, why don't you visit the Pokémon Day Care after the battle is over? It's where I've been working since the Gym stopped getting any challengers, and it's a great place to train your Pokémon! Anyway, see you!"
Pokémon Day CareEdit
"Hello <Player>. Sorry, but the Day Care's not open right now. There's no way I'm leaving the house right now. Those Pokémon seem pretty aggressive, and I can't afford putting the young ones in danger!"
  • After CrisalitSr/PupazeSs swarm
"Oh, hello again <Player>. It seems a lot calmer out there now, I guess it's safe for you to use the Pokémon Day Care. I know! How about we have a battle! Watching your battle with Beatrice earlier reminded me just how fun battling could be. Why don't you have a battle against me and Mike?"
Yes: "Great!
No: "Oh... Well perhaps another time then.
"You ready for that battle yet?"
  • Before battle
"Come on Mike, let's win this!"
  • When defeated
"Oh well, perhaps I'll win my next battle."
  • After being defeated
"Congratulations <Player>! I don't care that I lost, since I had such a great time! Right then, if you want to leave any of your Pokémon here, then just speak to me over the counter. Come back any time!"
  • After battle
"Hello <Player>, and welcome to the Pokémon Day Care."
  • If no Pokémon have been deposited
"Would you like to leave a Pokémon here with us?"
Yes: "Okay, which Pokémon would you like to leave with us?"
"<Pokémon>, huh? Alright, we'll take good care of it!"
No: "Okay, please come again!"
  • If one Pokémon has been deposited
"By level, your <Pokémon> has grown about <level>. You can leave two Pokémon here if you want. Would you like to do that?"
Yes: "Okay, which other Pokémon would you like to leave with us?"
"<Pokémon>, huh? Alright, we'll take good care of both of your Pokémon!"
No: "Okay. Would you like to take your <Pokémon> back then?"
Yes: "Let's see... That would cost <cost>."
  • If the player has enough money
"Alright, wait here a second... Here you go! <Pokémon>, seems pretty happy to see you! That'll be <cost> please. Thank you, please come again!"
