Televisions (also abbreviated TVs are part of the furniture in most houses in the Pokémon world. They debuted in, but were merely for decoration until .
In Pokémon Sunrise and Sunset and s, televisions show a variety of different programs. The RBC produce all of the television programs shown all around the Rinto region, broadcasting them from the three TV Stations in Vaultair City. The type of television shows that are broadcast at any particular instance depend on the in-game time, and the specific show that is broadcast is dependent on which of the three channels is being watched.
Every ten minutes, the program being shown on all three channels changes, beginning the cycle again every hour, and making for a total of eighteen different shows. Each show has many different episodes that may all be shown within the same ten minute time span, and more episodes are unlocked as the player completes more chapters. So long as the player doesn't leave the room in which they are watching television, they will not watch the same episode of a show twice, unless they have already seen all of them, or wait a full hour for the cycle to repeat itself. If they are watching a serial drama, then they will always see the episodes in numerical order.
Unlike in previous Generations, there are no advertisements shown on television in Rinto, due to the RBC being funded by taxpayers.
